Is Media Mart really free?
Yes. A Walk-in account is free with no time limit and no card. It holds up to 100 films and includes current prices, your shelf value, The Stacks, profiles and following friends. Upgrade only if you want more.
What happens when I reach 100 films?
Everything you've added stays exactly where it is. You just can't add a new film until you remove one or become a Member.
Do I lose anything if my membership ends?
No. Your films, libraries, notes and price history all stay in your account. You go back to the Walk-in view: the last 30 days of history and the first few comps per film, and no new films past 100 until you rejoin. Rejoin and everything unlocks again.
What's the sticker on the membership card?
Every Member gets a gold "Member" sticker on their card, so other collectors can see it when they visit your shelf. A few early supporters have a shimmering "Founding Member" sticker.
I have a gift code. How do I use it?
Sign in, tap the Walk-in · Join chip next to your name at the top, paste the code under Have a code? and tap Redeem. Codes look like MM-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. Each code says how long the membership lasts.
Billing
How much is a membership?
$3.99 a month, plus sales tax where it applies. It renews each month until you cancel.
How do I pay? Is my card safe?
Payments are handled by Stripe, which processes payments for millions of businesses. Your card number goes straight to Stripe; Media Mart never sees or stores it.
How do I cancel?
Open Your account → Membership → Manage billing and cancel there, any time. You keep Member features until the end of the month you've already paid for.
Do you give refunds?
We don't give partial refunds for the rest of a month, except where the law requires it. If something went wrong with a charge, get in touch and we'll sort it out.
Will the price change?
If it ever does, we'll email you before your next renewal at the new price, so you can decide first.
Your collection
Which formats can I add?
VHS, DVD and Blu-ray, with condition (poor, good, like new, sealed) and edition: standard, ex-rental, clamshell, big box, Criterion, steelbook, collector's edition, and limited or indie releases.
What if my film or release isn't in the search?
Switch to Enter manually when adding a film. Only the title and year are required. That works for anything the database doesn't list, including modern boutique and indie VHS releases of newer films.
Can I bring my collection from another app or computer?
Media Mart backups import in one step: Your account → Your data → Import a backup file. Importing never duplicates films you already have. You can also download your collection as a spreadsheet at any time.
Prices
Where do the prices come from?
From real eBay listings and recorded sales for each film and format, adjusted for your copy's condition and edition. Media Mart checks current listings every few hours and records sales as listings end. You can also log a sale you saw yourself, at a shop or a convention.
Are the prices exact?
They're estimates, not appraisals or offers. Rare tapes with few sales can swing a lot. Use them as a guide, and check the sold listings before you buy, sell or insure anything.
Why doesn't a film I just added have a price yet?
Media Mart starts checking eBay the moment you add it. Most films get a price within a few minutes. Very rare titles may take longer while sales come in.
Privacy & your data
Who can see my shelf?
You choose: everyone on Media Mart, only people you approve (the default), or nobody. You can also hide dollar values when you share. What you paid and your notes are never shown to anyone else.
Can I download or delete my data?
Yes, any time, on both Walk-in and Member accounts: Your account → Your data to download, and Delete account to remove everything. Details are in the Terms & Privacy.
Do you sell my data or show ads?
No and no.
